The Georgian Riding Association for Challenged Equestrians has 20 thousand reasons to celebrate.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation gave a 20 thousand dollar grant to the GRACE program on Saturday to help sustain its programs and develop fundraising strategies.
Local MPP Bill Murdoch joined OTF representative Frank Coulter to congratulate the volunteers and participants of the program on receiving the money.
Murdoch says the grant will allow the Association to build for the future and improve opportunities for its current membership.
GRACE president Jim Merriam says the money will support the program and help ensure its future going forward.
The GRACE program was started in 1990 to establish a non-profit equestrian program for physically and mentally challenged individuals.
They offer a unique and innovative program designed to accommodate the needs and challenges of riders with disabilities.
Therapeutic riding classes are offered during the spring, summer and fall.
