More Collingwood streets will be fixed up this year.
The town’s sewer renewal program is heading into phase two.
Public Works Executive Director Ed Houghton says in 2002 the town started looking at which sewers needed to be fixed up and most of the work is being done in the downtown area.
Houghton says in phase one, ten percent of the town’s sewers were repaired and new asphalt was put in.
He adds over the next two years, four kilometres of sewer will be done to bring the total to 14 percent.
Houghton tells us the total project cost is 26 million dollars with 2.5 million being spent this year, 1.8 in 2011 and 1.7 million in 2012.
