Bruce Power is thinking about warmer weather.
Preparations are being made for the 2010 Bruce Power Beach Party, which will take place on the Port Elgin Beach on July 17th.
Communications Specialist Judi Chambers says winter is the perfect time to start planning the family-oriented event.
She says new activities this year include children’s yoga, along with traditional favourites like kite flying.
The day will also feature other children’s activities, entertainment, and food.
Chambers says Bruce Power holds the beach party each year to thank local communities for their support.
The 2009 beach party was held at Station Beach in Kincardine.
Bruce Power is putting a strong emphasis on the environment for this year’s Beach Party.
Chambers says an example is the digesters they’ll have on site where party-goers can leave their food scraps.
The material will be taken back to the Bruce Power site and then transported to the All-Treat plant in Arthur where it will be made into compost.
