The Zonta Club of Owen Sound and area is doing their part to help mark International Women’s Day.
This is the first time the Zonta Club has ever hosted an even to mark International Woman’s day.
The event happens this evening at St Mary’s Parish Centre on 15th Street East in Owen Sound.
Spokesperson Donna Beatty says the event is called ‘A Celebration of Women in the Arts”.
Beatty says the evening features about 15 local women in the arts demonstrating and selling their work.
Beatty says the proceeds from this event will go towards the Women’s Centre and the sexual assault and partner care centre at the Grey Bruce Health Services.
She adds the Zonta club is an international service club for business and professional women that honours the status of women across the world.
Beatty says because of this the group is a perfect fit for international women’s day.
Tickets are available at the door for 15 dollars and the event runs from 7 PM to 9 PM.
Beatty adds this is a great opportunity to celebrate and support women in the area.
