Blue Mountain is looking to the past to bring more visitors to the ski hills in the summer.
Construction will start this spring on a cart ride down the mountain, similar to the Slide Ride that was at Blue between 1977 and 2000.
The new, German-designed ‘alpine coaster’, is expected to be ready for riders this fall and will operate year-round.
Two people at a time will use a cart to ride down the hill on a track that will start at the top of the ski kill and end at the Grand Central Lodge.
A mini-golf course is also being added to the resort this summer.
Work on both the golf and the slider project will begin in the next few weeks.
The resort says it’s also planning to add rock climbing, a bungee jump and zip line to its summer attractions, but doesn’t yet have a construction schedule for them.
