There will be a public apology from Meaford Council tonight.
Meaford will issue a formal apology to everyone connected to the Georgian Theatre Festival.
The group folded in 2007 after a bitter dispute with Meaford officials and Council that started in 2006.
It boiled over when former Meaford CAO David Free filed a defamation lawsuit against the GTF Manager Claudia Staines and its board members.
The dispute — which still divides part of the community today — involved residents who helped with the Meaford Hall Restoration project.
Those affected are expected to be at tonight’s Council meeting.
