The future of small rural hospitals will be discussed in Kincardine and the Ontario Health Coalition is listening.
Coalition director Natalie Mehra said the provincial government wasn’t doing anything about the plight of hospitals in smaller communities, so the coalition would.
The coalition is on what Mehra calls a multi-community “listening tour” to hear what residents have to say about the future of their smaller hospitals and the way they’re operated.
They stop this afternoon in Kincardine at the Davidson Centre.
Everyone is welcome between Noon and 3:30 PM to drop in and have their say, either written or oral.
Mehra says if they get thousands of citizens coming out to these meetings, it will be tough for the provincial government to ignore them.
Once they’re finished their tour throughout the province, they will compile a report and will make every effort to present it to the premier and the health minister.
