The MP for Huron Bruce sees a lot of positives in the new Federal budget.
Conservative Ben Lobb is glad to see the government is moving to turn off the taps from the economic stimulus package as it tackles a record deficit.
The Harper government is continuing with phase two of the economic stimulus package, or 19 billion dollars in spending over the next year.
However, once that ends in March, Lobb says the Feds will look for 17.6 billion dollars in spending restraint.
He says there are a number of areas where the government can save money including a slow-down in planned spending in the military.
Lobb also sees some positives for local farmers and manufacturers.
The local MP says there is money in the budget to help farmers remain competitive, and the removal of some tarriffs will help the manufacturing sector.
