Saugeen Shores has the federal green light for two infrastructure loans under Canada’s Economic Action Plan.
Huron Bruce MP Ben Lobb says close to 5.3-million-dollars in low-interest loans from CMHC’s Municipal Infrastructure Lending Program (MILP) will be used to expand the town’s wastewater treatment facilities including the construction of a new sewage pumping station and a new septage receiving station.
The work involves the 10th concession pump station and the wastewater forcemain project.
Lobb says the low interest loan is spread over 15 years and Saugeen Shores Mayor Mike says this guarantees a stable repayment plan that can be built into the municipal sewer rate for taxpayers.
