A fascinating piece of spoken art happening in Owen Sound.
The Words Aloud at the Library event happens today at the Owen Sound Library that will feature two Laureates.
The current Owen Sound Laureate Kristan Anderson will share a piece with the past Owen Sound Laureate Liz Zetlin.
There will also be the premiere of the Words Aloud Documentary which was filmed at the 2007 Words Aloud Festival in Durham.
Head Librarian for the Owen Sound Library Judy Armstrong says if you have never experienced spoken word then this is an event of great interest.
Armstrong says spoken word is often political, current and opinionated making it a contemporary piece that will connect them to the artist.
She says the documentary will highlight the fact that this region has hosted some of the most talented and well know spoken word artists in the country.
Armstrong says there will also be the launch on Sunday of Words Aloud Online which allows people to see past performances of spoken word on line and is a study guide allowing anyone who wishes more information about spoken word open to them.
The free event starts at 2 PM today and runs until 4 PM.
