Owen Sound is now home to a brand new St. John Ambulance Training Facility, which will be celebrating its grand opening on Friday, February 26th.
The new facility is located on 20th Street East, and boasts larger training rooms and state of the art technology.
Kathy Murphy is the Grey Bruce Branch Manager and says they simply needed to expand to a bigger location.
The new training centre will be better able to provide key first aid skills and other courses to a growing number of volunteers in the organization.
The grand opening ceremonies will be open to the public and will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with Owen Sound Mayor Ruth Lovell.
Murphy welcomes anyone who is interested in learning more about the organization and it’s programs to come out and learn what they’re all about.
St. John Ambulance provides an essential service through medical training programs and community work.
The volunteer members of St. John teach people lifesaving skills such as CPR and first aid.
They have 25 thousand volunteers in locations all across Canada with 6000 certified instructors.
