You still have time to celebrate Kindness Week with the United Way of Bruce Grey.
Executive Director Francesca Dobbyn says the event will be officially over after tomorrow but she’s hoping to see the spirit carried on.
Dobbyn says they’ve simply been asking people to commit random acts of kindness – and the response has been amazing.
Dobbyn says for example, Bruce Power gave their employees a Kindness Kupcake.
If you’re looking for ideas of your own, Dobbyn suggests paying for someone behind you in the drive thru, popping some coins in an expired meter, or shovelling a neighbour’s driveway.
Dobbyn says we live in a world that can be pretty harsh and these little gestures can really make people feel special.
She says the United Way hopes that by encouraging the idea of Kindness Week, random acts of kindness will become part of everyday life in our communities.
