It looks like a community garden to be created in Southampton is a go.
It will be situation between G.C Huston Public School and the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre.
Saugeen Shores Councillor Victoria Serda is one of the organizing team members for the project.
She says almost 30 people showed up for the first meeting in January to see if there was interest.
Serda says there was – and already about 28 plots will be set up; predominantly growing vegetables.
She says a certain amount will be used towards the lunch and breakfast programs at GC Huston and will allow kids a hands on educational component.
The Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre will also use the garden for education purposes.
The next meeting for those already a part of the project or for those wanting to get involved is tonight at 6:30 PM at GC Huston school.
