Saugeen Shores Council is into budget sessions.
Councillor Luke Charbonneau says it’s inevitable there will be an increase, even if it’s just one that reflects the inflationary rise over the year.
Charbonneau says the number one pressure on the budget is labour with full time staff and with the increase in the minimum wage where it’s used for part time staff.
He says Council is looking at the bigger picture to see where their priorities lie.
Charbonneau says council is already on record as determined to keep the budget numbers as low as possible although no numbers are being mentioned at this time.
The first meeting was held on Tuesday.
The general public is invited to take in the budget sessions which will continue from 9:30 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday.
The meeting is being held in the council chambers.
