It’s a passing grade for the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board.
The Ministry of Education has just completed an Operational Review of the School Board.
The Catholic Board received top marks for a positive working relationship among staff as well as its open and transport relationship with the public.
Along with being very student focused the review highlights the good work the School Board has done on its strategic plan.
Areas in need of improvement include some policy housekeeping matters, more information on the Board’s website as well as a need for a administrative succession plan.
Director of Education Bruce MacPherson says work has already begun on these areas.
He notes the School Board already has a Leadership Committee in place which will aid in future succession plans.
As a small school board, MacPherson says its imperative that a plan is in place to replace administrative department heads.
The Operational Review focused on four key areas — school board governance, human resource management, financial management and school operations and plant management.
The public can access the review on the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board’s website at www.bgcdsb.org
