The owner/operator of Moto Park at Williamsford will be inducted into the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame.
Carl Bastedo, who has a lengthy resume in both motorcycle racing and shows, will be among the inductees at a ceremony in Toronto on April 17th.
Bastedo says the honor is truly gratifying for him and he’s thankful that he’s being rewarded in this manner after 50 years in various capacities in the Motorsports industry.
As an 18 year old, Bastedo ran a motorcycle shop at Niagara Falls and from there moved on to Kawasaki Motors where he served in Marketing and Sales plus was a key member of the Kawasaki Motocross team/
From 1977 to 1984 Bastedo was a key figure with the Cycle Canada Motorcycle Shows, plus beginning in 1980, he coordinated the annual Toronto Supercross at Exhibition Stadium and later at SkyDome over a span of 17 years.
Locally, Bastedo is well known for the operation of Moto Park at Williamsford where he supervises camps and races every year.
When asked which aspect of his career he has the most pride in, Bastedo states the Toronto Supercross Show with a its huge budget, large turnouts and profile is a source of great enjoyment when reflecting on his career.
