A 22 year old Meaford man faces several charges after a woman was assaulted.
Grey County OPP were called to a home on Victoria street in Meaford about 1:30 AM Tuesday.
Officers were met at the door by a man, and an injured woman.
The victim was taken to Meaford hospital by ambulance, and then transferred later to the Owen Sound hospital.
An investigation by police revealed that the woman had been seriously assaulted by the male suspect.
Further investigation revealed the man was under court imposed conditions to abstain from communicating with the victim.
Grey county OPP arrested the man at the scene.
He is charged with offences that include assault, and uttering threats.
He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice-Owen Sound on January 28th.
