Details have been announced about a Haiti benefit concert in Owen Sound.
It’s a grassroots initiative involving local musicians and businesses.
Organizer Steve Ritchie, formerly of Tanglefoot, says support has been overwhelming from corporate sponsors to entertainers who are all working for free.
The benefit is called ‘From Home to Haiti’ and will involve performances by several local artists including three of the former Tanglefoot bandmates, Ritchie along with his brother Rob Ritchie and Al Parrish.
Also on the stage will be The Black Family of Markdale, singer Jamie Smith, local country singer Tommy Gilham, local musician Rob McLean and performances by Dancemakers of Owen Sound.
The evening will also include a message from Pastor Dave Oppertshauser of the Sauble Christian Fellowship Church — just back from Haiti.
The concert is being held at The Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound on Tuesday February 16th at 7:30 PM.
Tickets go on sale at midnight tonight and are 20 dollars each with all proceeds to go to The Red Cross for Haiti relief.
