Not all of the residents along the West Road in Northern and South Bruce Peninsula are happy about Bruce County’s plans to upgrade the route.
25 people attended an open house in Lion’s Head in December to find out about plans to improve the road between Ferndale and Oliphant.
The county has identified the West Road as a collector and scenic route.
County Engineer Brian Knox says residents have challenged elements of plans to do 2.1 million dollars worth of work from Ferndale south for eight kilometres.
He says the county plans to meet with the concerned ratepayers to see if some of the issues can be addressed so the work can happen in 2010.
Knox believes the county is in a good position to still do the work.
He notes it’s fortunate they can try to resolve resident concerns that led to an appeal of the planning decision for the project.
