If you logged onto the Bluewater District School Board’s website on Tuesday afternoon — you could have watched decision making in action.
It was the first time a board meeting was webcast.
Students Duncan Fortier and Matt Rennick from Saugeen District Secondary School in Port Elgin were on hand to do the camera work for the nearly five hour meeting.
The meetings are also being recorded onto DVD and delivered to Eastlink Cable TV, Kincardine Cable TV, and Rogers Cable TV for rebroadcast.
The move to webcast and telecast board meetings stems from Ross Parry’s recommendations to make the board more accessible to the public.
It is a six month trial project and web traffic to gauge viewership will be examined at the end of that time.
The Bluewater District School Board website is www.bwdsb.on.ca.
Board meetings are currently held on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM.
