Ontario’s Green Party Leader in Collingwood this evening to be a part of the Blue Mountain Watershed Trust panel discussion.
It’s taking place at the Gayety Theatre.
Mike Schreiner says that Simcoe-Grey is a fantastic riding for the Green Party for lots of reasons.
He says their party is actually attracting a number of disaffected Tory voters who now want to vote for a party that will stand up for family farmers, and small to medium sized businesses.
Schreiner says that’s why a number of voters from across the political spectrum are now voting green.
He says that Collingwood’s and Wasaga Beach’s economy really depends on a healthy environment, and the prosperity across all of Simcoe-Grey relies on it too.
Schreiner says that their members aren’t the stereotype that’s been around for some time either.
He says the Green Party consists of small business owners, community leaders, and family farmers who are just average Ontarians who want to create a better life for themselves and future generations.
Schreiner also says that the Green Party is the only party offering a comprehensive vision on how to transition the province’s economy to be successful and prosperous in a high energy cost environment.
He says they want a green tax cut, which would mean there would be rewards and incentives in the form of reduced taxes for people who live a green lifestyle
Schreiner says government revenue would be maintained by taxing things we don’t want, such as waste, to make up for the lowered tax on people who go green.
