Meaford is still mulling over an invitation to join the steering committee for the Regional Recreation Complex planned in Owen Sound.
Mayor Francis Richardson says to get some of their questions answered they’ve
invited the committee to come speak with council.
Richardson says some Meaford councillors are concerned about finances while others simply want more details on the project.
Richardson says Meaford will make it clear to the steering committee that they are in no position to contribute financially to the 38 million dollar project.
He says personally it would feel awkward to have a representative on the committee when they don’t have any money involved.
But the Mayor says in the end that decision rests with council.
The Regional Recreation Centre Steering Committee will appear before council at their meeting tonight.
