A Barrie nurse who survived a powerful earthquake that rocked Haiti and killed thousands is back home.
Deb Paton arrived in Port-au-Prince only 90 minutes before the earthquake hit.
Paton is a manager of infection prevention and control and occupational health at Barrie’s hospital, and she was on her third humanitarian trip to Haiti.
Paton’s colleague, Yvonne Martin of Elmira, was killed in Tuesday’s magnitude-7.0 earthquake.
Paton will be holding a news conference this afternoon at the hospital.
