Have you ever thought of taking a natural approach to your health?
A new Naturopathic Doctor has set up a practice in Southampton.
David Miller is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto, where he spent four years studying after getting a science degree from the University of Waterloo.
Miller says three years of the program is course and practical work, and the fourth year is clinical work spent learning things like acupuncture, Chinese and herbal medicine, homeopathy, and modifications in lifestyle and diet.
He says he first thought of being a pharmacist or a medical doctor, but decided on naturopathic medicine because he wanted to do something that involved proper medicine, looking after people, and other aspects of health.
Miller says the New Year is a great time to look at your life and decide what goals to pursue.
He says one of those goals should always be proper health and wellness—something a Naturopathic Doctor can help with.
Miller has close ties to the region.
He was raised in Kincardine and after years of education in Waterloo and Toronto, plus a stay in New Zealand, he’s decided small town life is for him.
Miller’s practice opened December 1st and he says business has steadily increased since that time.
His office is located at 60 Albert Street in Southampton beside the Drifting Sands Spa in a building where a Medical Doctor also practices.
