The “2010 Ice Dreams” Skating event is set for the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center in Owen Sound this weekend.
The two day Central Ontario Sectional event which features almost 200 skaters from our region will be staged Saturday and Sunday.
The performers, who come from close to a dozen regional skating clubs, range in age from very young to “senior” in category.
Overall, there are 59 categories over the two days as the skaters are judged by a panel, including several from Skate Canada.
The hosting duties for the annual event rotates from club to club within the Central Ontario Sectional.
While the organizing of the event is a big task, Janet Waller Coture of the Owen Sound Skating Club relates they have previous experience, plus the money generated by the host club goes a long way to paying for expenses incurred over the year.
