Today is all about sheep in Elmwood.
This is Sheep Day as Grey Bruce Farmer’s Week continues at the Elmwood Community Centre.
Ray Robertson from Grey County Agricultural Services is anticipating a very busy day since their sheep event has become very popular.
He notes about 140 different producers attended Sheep Day last year.
Grey County is ranked number one in Ontario for sheep and goat production.
Some of today’s events include seminars on traceability in the sheep flock and a look at the future of the industry over the next five years.
There’s also an Ecological trade show this afternoon which will see presentations on organic farms and animal welfare.
