Grey County is looking into increasing the speed limit to 90 kilometres an hour on a section of one of its roads.
Grey Road 4 between Flesherton and Singhampton used to be provincial Highway 4 before being downloaded to the county a number of years ago.
Chatsworth Mayor Howard Greig says the section is being looked at because it was designed and built to a higher standard than are most county roads.
The committee has been investigating for some time the possibility of increasing the speed limit on certain roads — including the recently reconstructed Grey Bruce Line.
However Bruce County didn’t support it — and Grey County’s own staff had issues with it.
Transportation Director Gary Shaw has been directed to investigate the possibility.
