Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot is optimistic that his community will see increased growth in 2010.
Barfoot says he expects to see more construction of homes at the Cobble Beach development this year.
Barfoot says he has spoken with the principals behind the development and they have indicated there will be an increase in construction of luxury homes at the golf course.
He says while 2009 was saw little activity at Cobble Beach some major growth is predicted this year.
Barfoot also says the construction of the Biodigester also will be a big project for both Georgian Bluffs and their partner in the project, Chatsworth.
He says they have spoken with the contractor who has indicated construction can begin as soon as the snow goes, and the facility could be in operation by August.
Barfoot also predicts that relations between Owen Sound and Georgian Bluffs will improve in the upcoming year and there will be a resolution to the dispute about future development in the hamlet of Springmount.
Owen Sound is opposed to any expansion of development because of concerns over the lack of services.
Barfoot says Georgian Bluffs needs growth in the municipality so they can survive.
He expects there will some meetings between the Owen Sound and Georgian Bluffs very shortly to try and resolve the issue, before it could be sent back to the Province.
