Hanover Mayor Kathi Maskell feels 2010 will be a challenging year.
Maskell says the economic downturn — coupled with the recent factory plant closures in Hanover and surrounding area — will make things difficult.
That being said, Maskell says Hanover is a resilient town and she is confident the community will pull together and overcome the obstacles ahead.
She says town council is going to continue to steer a steady course and do the best it can for the citizens of Hanover.
Maskell says this includes working even harder to welcome industry, business and commerce into Hanover.
She says replenishing Hanover’s reserve funds will also be a focus this year.
Maskell says the town had to dip into the reserve funds pretty heavily in 2009 to finance major projects like the new Regional Recreation Complex.
Maskell adds the completion of the new Regional Recreation Complex will be a highlight of 2010 for Hanover.
She says the state of the art facility will be something everyone can take great pride in.
