Kincardine is pressing ahead with plans to withdraw from the Paisley Area Fire Board.
The Paisley Fire Department serves the northeastern part of the former Bruce Township.
Kincardine Fire Chief Jamie MacKinnon says the board recently met and passed a resolution in support of having the chiefs sit down and work out a new agreement for fire services.
Brockton is also planning to pull out of the board, and Saugeen Shores did last year.
Kincardine plans to continue to pay the Paisley Fire Department to serve the areas it already serves.
MacKinnon stresses the fee for service plan does not mean residents served by Paisley will be billed for any fire calls they make.
He says fee for service is basically the system that’s in place now, Kincardine pays an annual fee to Paisley for fire protection.
The only difference is that in the future, Kincardine will no longer be a part owner of the Paisley Fire Department.
