An update on doctor recruitment efforts in South Bruce.
Deputy Mayor Carl Zettel is a member of the Brockton and Area Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee.
He notes that they will be able to attract more doctors once the new, larger medical clinic is finished.
Zettel says they need to find more doctors because other physicians in the community will retire soon.
As for efforts to get financial support for recruitment from Bruce Power — letters from South Bruce, Brockton and Arran-Elderslie are being sent to the company.
Zettel notes the Wingham area could also benefit from corporate help because so many Bruce Power employees live there and in the other communities.
Bruce Power has already promised 500 thousand dollars to help with doctor recruitment in Kincardine and Saugeen Shores.
