The Huron-Bruce Conservative Member of Parliament is looking back on his first full year as a rookie MP.
Ben Lobb says it’s been a very busy and productive year, with lots of federal dollars coming in to the riding.
Lobb says despite the trying economic times and the loss of manufacturing jobs, there was a lot of good news in terms of new projects.
He says there was a lot of money going towards infrastructure and community adjustment.
Lobb says he didn’t let the ongoing threat of an election dictate the way he ran the riding, as his real boss is the taxpayers.
He says it came over loud and clear that the residents didn’t want an election and he hopes Micheal Ignatieff, the leader of the federal Liberals got the message as well.
As for 2010, Lobb says he hopes the home renovation tax credit will continue as it helped out Canadian homeowners and also kept skilled tradespeople busy in the industry.
He says the 2010 budget will also be a major discussion coming into the new year.
Lobb says he’s talked to a lot of Huron-Bruce residents over the past year and he plans to stay available to the people of his riding.
