Tricycle racing is about to become an Olympic sport in Saugeen Shores.
Mayor Mike Smith says Council will have a tricycle race at The Plex in Port Elgin tomorrow — the day the Olympic Torch Relay passes through town.
He’s hoping there are no serious accidents.
The Mayor says it will be a pretty competitive race and there is an honourable prize.
Smith says the winner gets to announce all of the names of everyone who has a turn at carrying the Olympic Torch on its journey through Saugeen Shores.
At the December 14th Council meeting, some members were already gearing up for the race.
Councillor Luke Charbonneau kept a gold crash helmet on his desk for the entire evening.
