The OPP have issued another warning about an email scam.
This time police say the fraudsters are getting smarter and hack into email contact lists and pose as a family member who is in urgent need of money.
They send an email from a more familiar address and ask that you send money because they are in an emergency.
Police say common themes are they are in prison or hospitalized.
And the friend or relative is unaware that their email account has been used to send out these requests.
The OPP say if you ever get a request for money — contact the person requesting the money and verify their identity.
