Collingwood’s mayor is staying tight-lipped about next year’s municipal election.
Chris Carrier says he can’t say yet whether he’ll run again as mayor in October 2010.
He tells us he has to talk it over with his wife, family and friends and the community and when it’s the right time for the campaign, he will make an announcement.
But Carrier has definitely been outspoken about the province’s new Good Government Act.
The mayor says the name alone is offensive.
He says he doesn’t like the fact the election has been moved up from November to October 25th and he doesn’t want to see an end to the mail-in ballot system which could happen.
Carrier also says he thinks it’s silly to have to show ID when you can just sign a declaration at voting time.
