Talisman Resort in the Beaver Valley will be open to skiers and snowboarders this weekend.
Talisman will have 10 out of its 15 runs open starting tomorrow .
Director of Marketing Janie Leyden Ondrey says the conditions are fantastic for the start of the opening season.
She says the large amount of snow and the cold temperatures have made it easier for their groomers to prepare for the season.
There are 125 seasonal staff at Talisman — and Leyden Ondrey tells us 40 per cent of the staff are back from last season.
But she notes they are always looking for more staff.
Leyden Ondrey says they have also been busy preparing their ski schools for both kids and adults.
New this year is “own the ski hill” as people can have exclusive rights to the hill on Monday or Tuesday and entertain staff or clients.
Leyden Ondrey says they have also introduced overnight packages for schools where students can hit the hills and also have class at Talisman.
Blue Mountain Resort near Collingwood opened for skiing last weekend.
