There are no more flu clinics planned by the Grey Bruce Health Unit for the area.
In a media released, the Health Unit says it has completed H1N1 and Seasonal flu clinics in the area now, and about a third of the Grey-Bruce population received shots.
In total, Public health nurses administered over 10 thousand five hundred shots and some 45 thousand doses of H1N1 vaccine were distributed thru physicians, nurse practicioners and hospitals.
Based on the 2006 census of the area that shows a population of 157 thousand people — roughly one in three received the H1N1 vaccine in Grey Bruce.
The number of people getting the regular flu shot was slightly lower.
Public Health provided a record twenty-four H1N1 and Seasonal Flu vaccine clinics across Grey Bruce.
Grey Bruce health unit officials add the H1N1 flu vaccine and Seasonal Flu vaccine are now available to everyone 6 months of age and older, by appointment, through the Health Unit in Owen Sound, Walkerton and at the Plex in Port Elgin.
