A local MP sat-out the vote in the House of Commons on a bill allowing the HST to be implemented in Ontario and B-C.
Miller says you can call it a protest vote over the legislation.
He believes most people in the riding are dead set against the Harmonized Sales tax, which will blend the Ontario 8 per cent sales tax with the 5 per cent federal GST.
The HST is set to come into effect in July of next year.
The Conservative MP says if the province removed the HST from electricity and heating bills — he would probably support it’s implementation.
This past week, MPP Bill Murdoch held a sit-in at the Ontario legislature over the HST.
He called the Premier a liar and was suspended from the legislature by the Speaker.
The Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP says it’s very obvious that our provincial member has been doing his job.
