Grey County OPP have now released the names of a man and woman who were killed in a three vehicle crash south of Owen Sound.
The victims are identified as 22 year old Gavin Nordeman of Meaford and his fiancee’ 22 year old Darcie Slaa also of Meaford — but formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
They were in a pickup truck that was hit Friday morning by a transport truck going one way and a car going the other on Highway 6 and 10 just south of Owen Sound.
Grey County OPP say Nordeman’s pickup entered the highway at Sunny Valley Road around 11 AM Friday, when the collision occurred.
There is a stop sign there, and police have not been able to determine a cause for the crash.
The driver of the car, 57 year old David Tebbutt of Chatsworth Township, was taken to the Owen Sound hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
The tractor-trailer driver, 62 year old Earl Vallier of Mississauga, was not injured.
Anyone with information that might assist in the investigation who has not yet been interviewed by police should contact Grey County OPP.
