There will not be a trial for the 18 people charged in the Site 41 protests.
Charges against 16 of them were stayed in Midland court on Thursday.
That means the current court proceedings are suspended for a year.
But if any of the 16 charged are involved in similar protests to do with Site 41, the crown can re-instate the charges.
If there is no further activity, the charges will be dropped altogether after a year.
Also, today charges against an elderly couple, Keith and Ina Wood, were dropped on compassionate grounds.
Ina, who is 75, had a stroke a couple of weeks ago and is still in the hospital.
