Local residents will be able to hear more about the harmonized sales tax with Ontario’s Revenue Minister.
John Wilkinson has been touring the province and talking about the proposed HST — and his next stop will be at the Village at Blue Mountains today.
Wilkinson was invited by the Blue Mountains Chamber of Commerce and he is scheduled to speak at 12 Noon today about the new 13 per cent sales tax.
All residents and business people are welcome — and there will be a question and answer period to follow.
But you will have to pay 20 dollars a ticket for the lunch buffet.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch says it’s a waste of money — “you have to pay 20 bucks to find out they are rippin’ you off.”
Murdoch doubts Wilkinson will be able to answer the tough questions about the HST — for example, how they plan to create a promised 600 thousand jobs.
Murdoch yesterday ended a two day sit in at the Ontario legislature to try and force the Liberal government to hold province wide public hearings on the HST.
