Owen Sound residents will get a chance to check out the preliminary plans for improving Kelso Beach Park at an open house taking place at City Hall.
That meeting with city staff, and landscape Architect Kim Allerton will take place between 4 PM and 6 PM.
The Chair of the Cities Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee is Councillor Jim McManaman.
He says this will be a perfect opportunity for people who initially put forward ideas on how to improve the park to see how they could be implemented.
He says the Architect then will take those suggestions and revise the preliminary Master Plan to be presented to the Recreation and Parks Advisory committee meeting next week on December 10th.
McManaman says he has had a sneak peek at some of the proposals in the Preliminary master plan and bringing the beach back to Kelso Beach Park remains a top priority.
He says its important to get rid of the invasive grass, the common reed to reestablish the beach once again at the park.
He says the committee will take a good look at the plan, and if they like it will pass it on to city Council.
McManaman says he expects council to get the Master Plan by early January.
