The President and CEO of Bruce Telecom has resigned.
Chair Richard Martin tells Bayshore Broadcasting News Michael Andrews is stepping down for personal reasons.
The resignation is official as of December 4th.
Martin says Chief Financial Officer Laurel Stein will take over as acting General Manager.
Martin says an agency from Toronto is searching for an interim president and CEO until a replacement for Andrews can be found.
Martin hopes that will happen by year’s end.
Just last week — we reported Bruce Telecom is making less money and does not expect to make it’s 2009 budget by about half a million dollars.
When asked if that had any bearing on Andews’ decision to leave, Martin told us no.
Andrews replaced Hans Nilsson 14 months ago, but never moved to the area and still resides in Aylmer.
It’s not known what Andrews’ plans are from here on in.
