Police are now releasing more details about the driveby shooting in Hanover — and have charged three people in the case.
Investigators have established that Sunday’s shooting was not gang related and the 18 year old who sustained the gunshot injury was an unintended victim.
Police say a bullet came through the window of a home and hit the young man around 5 AM Sunday.
Early in the investigation, information led police to an apartment in Wingham where two suspects were arrested around 11 AM Sunday.
Grey County OPP Constable Steve Starr says one of those men has since been released and the other is facing a charge not related to the shooting.
Starr says additional information then came to light that led police to focus on three new suspects.
They were all identified and arrested separately without incident Monday and Tuesday at locations in Wingham, Listowel, and Walkerton.
19 year old Cody Michael Crocker of no fixed address, 40 year old Dwight Robert Chambers of Bluevale, and 19 year old Scott David Pletch of Wingham are all in custody.
They are all facing a charge of Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Crocker was scheduled for a bail hearing Tuesday in a Walkerton court.
Chambers and Pletch will appear in court on Wednesday.
Police have not released the identity of the victim, who remains in a London hospital in serious but stable condition.
An investigative team made up of Grey and Huron County OPP Crime Unit officers with members of the Hanover Police Service continue to investigate.
Anyone with information that might assist with the investigation is asked to contact Grey County OPP, the Hanover Police Service, or Crime Stoppers.
