Music in the Fields in Lucknow is coming back again next summer.
The organizing committee, led by co-chairs Ken Irwin and Rick McMurray made a special presentation to Huron-Kinloss council recently on how the first-ever event went this past summer.
Irwin says they had about four thousand visitors to the one-day country music fest.
He says for the most part they were very happy with how the event played out, considering the economy and the weather conditions.
Irwin says they had hoped for more walk-up customers but that didn’t materialize.
He says the committee had a small loss on the festival but they were told by producers and talent agents who attended that all things considered they did very well.
Irwin says looking ahead to next year, they’re not going to change a lot but will tweak the odd thing here and there.
Huron Kinloss council kicked in 150 thousan dollars to help out with the first effort but Irwin isn’t sure if council will do the same this coming year.
He says that’s something councillors will have to deal with during budget discussions in the new year.
Meanwhile, the next edition of Music in the Fields in Lucknow will be held on Saturday, September 4th 2010.
