The numbers are in and it was a successful Harvest Dinner and Auction held to support the Village of Hope project in Zimbabwe.
Team Leader Barry Mutrie says the event last Saturday night event raised over 12 thousand dollars through tickets sold, along with a silent and live auction.
During the evening the group presented an additional cheque for 35 thousand dollars to the directors at the Mission Zimbabwe Project.
One of the key functions of The Village of Hope is to provide a safe and nurturing place for children orphaned by AIDS.
The Village of Hope is continuing to provide a safe, loving environment for orphans as well as continuing to expand the school.
The donated funds will be also be used to employ teachers for the school, construction workers to continue building and house moms to look after the children.
In addition, the funds raised will help provide education; food and medical care for the children.
