Long after businesses in the region have shut down for the night, the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre will be a busy place.
The museum is hosting the 3rd annual Grey Bruce Youth Summit tonight and overnight into all day sessions tomorrow.
Youth Program Advisor for the Grey Bruce Health Unit, Jason Cranny says the summit will focus on the importance of youth and the role they can play within their communities.
Cranny says the event is full with some 80 or so youth, along with some adults creating their own “night at the museum” followed by workshops on Saturday.
The three workshops on Saturday include understanding human behaviour; the important role youth play in society and growing up Aboriginal in Bruce and Grey.
Tonight will highlight a keynote speaker — Andy Thibodeau from London, Ontario who has been a motivational speaker for youth for the past 18-years.
Thibodeau uses comedy and true-life stories to deliver his message that caring is contagious but as a leader, it has to start with the youth attending the event.
