A Desboro area farmer is fighting for his life in hospital after being injured by an auger.
Grey County OPP officers were called to the Chatsworth Township farm on sideroad 5 around 12:30 PM Wednesday.
They found out a 45 year old man entered a grain bin and got caught by one of the sweep augers that spin as they rotate at the base of the bin to move the grain.
Fortunately, his son heard the cries from his father and shut the auger off and entered the bin to free him.
The unidentified man was taken directly from the scene by air ambulance to a London hospital where he remains in serious condition.
Both the Farm Safety Board and Ministry of Labour have been notified.
