Phase one of Hanover’s 200 thousand dollar five year Park Revitalization project is now complete.
Over the last two years the park has undergone a lot of changes — including river bank erosion control work, a new canoe launch, a refurbished pavilion, and a cleanup from last Spring’s flooding.
The most recent addition to the park is 24 thousand dollars worth of new playground equipment.
Councillor Rick Hopkins says it’s now time to focus on Phase two.
This will include the creation of a trail system in the park and more upgrades to the children’s playground equipment.
The park will also undergo beautification work including sprucing up the park’s entrance way.
The old chain and post system will be replaced with armor stone and some of the pavement at the front of the park will be removed and greened up.
Next year marks year 3 of the 5 year project.
