The little black and white bird that we see at our bird feeders can make for life long work.
Doctor Dan Mennill – a specialist in Avian Communication – from the University of Windsor is speaking at the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory’s 6th annual fundraising dinner on Saturday November 21st.
Dr Mennill has focused on the chickadee and their calls for much of his professional career.
He will be speaking about the chickadees habits at the fundraiser focusing on their social aspects and their calls.
Dr Mennill says the small birds are very easy to attract to your own backyard with fresh sunflower seeds – and an ample supply of the seeds at all times.
Dr Mennill has been studying not just birds in North America but in tropical climates as well as he heads to Costa Rica for part of the year to study tropical birds.
The fundraiser dinner and speech is on Saturday November 21st at St Mary’s Parish Hall in Owen Sound starting at 5:30 PM.
Tickets are 45 dollars each with a 25 dollar tax receipt being issued and can be purchased in advance by calling 519-372-0322.
There will also be a silent auction at the event.
